The Champion From 1978 z@ Having revolutionized grand prix racing with their Type 78, Team Lotus refined the design to create the Type 79, which was introduced at the 1978 Belgian GP.

Featuring downforce-generating venturi profiles in its side pontoons, inboard rear suspension, and repositioned fuel tanks and exhaust system, the car dominated the competition. M. Andretti took victory from pole position at the debut race. He and R. Peterson went on to achieve five and one wins respectively to give Team Lotus both the drivers' and team championships that year.

About the Model
Finished plastic display model of the Team Lotus Type 79 driven by R. Peterson at the British GP. *Distinctive features such as the taller roll bar and smaller air outlet on the left pontoon have been faithfully reproduced. *Side mirror surfaces are depicted with metal transfers. *Photo-etched seatbelt buckles highlight the detailed cockpit area. *Display base with name plate and clear case also included.
