About the Honda Pons RC211V '03 Ukawa
Coinciding with the release of Max Biaggi's bike, Tamiya will also release Tohru Ukawa's 2003 Honda Pons bike in the Masterwork Collection Series. Following his retirement after the close of the 2003 season, this bike serves as a fitting tribute to Ukawa's successful World Championship career.

About Tohru Ukawa and the 2003 RC211V
After an impressive 2002 season, which saw Tohru Ukawa finish 3rd in the Riders Championship, Ukawa joined Max Biaggi at the newly formed Camel Pramac Pons team for 2003. Riding the powerful V5 4-stroke Honda RC211V, Ukawa produced consistent results with 3 top-5 finishes to finish 8th overall in the Championships. Retiring from the World Championships after the last race of the 2003 season, the Japanese ace drew a close to his long career which saw him make a total of 124 appearances in the 250cc, 500cc and MotoGP. Scoring close to 40 podium finishes, Ukawa remains one of Japanfs most popular riders.
