TAMIYA Masterwork Collection No.21

About the TAMIYA 1/48 Scale Masterwork Collection Messerschmitt Me262 A-1a Clear Edition
As introduced at the 2004 Shizuoka Hobby Show, Tamiya released the Messerschmitt Me262 A-1a Clear Edition model to the Masterwork Collection lineup. The Messerschmitt is our first aircraft, and our first clear parts model to be introduced to the Masterwork series.

About the Messerschmitt Me262 A-1a
The revolutionary Messerschmitt Me262 was the worldfs first ever practical use jet-powered fighter plane. Following numerous prototypes an A-2a fighter/bomber version and an A-1a fighter version were developed. Fitted with a Junkers Jumo004B jet engine the Messerschmitt Me262 was capable of reaching speeds of 870km/h. With Hitler issuing orders to prioritize deployment of the A-2a, full-scale production of the A-1a was delayed until November 1944. Featuring four 30mm cannons in the nose and with later models fitted with 24 R4M air-to-air rockets under the wings, the Me262 was a fierce fighting machine feared by allied pilots.
