About the Rokuon-ji Temple-Kinkaku / Gold specification
Rokuon-ji Temple was built by Yoshimitsu Ashikaga in the Muromachi era as a villa in Kyoto Kitayama in 1937.
In the vast garden there are many trees and ponds, and the building whose exterior wall surface is gilt luxurious and gorgeous is Kinkaku.
This Kinkaku consists of three layers. The Buddha statue is settled on the top floor layer, and the lower layer is made as a residential style.
The current Kinkaku was rebuilt in 1955.
